Otis - Group Audit Tool (GAT)

Project overview: "Otis elevators" is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. Group Audit Tool (GAT) is a tool used for monitoring the security of the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system as well as the security information. The Otis IT department has internally developed this project. ITWorx role is to enhance the Web-based version and provide UTC with new features and modifications to be implemented on the existing system such as developing new reports, enabling the system to use the new HFM databases, integrating site minder to ensure better security standards, etc…

My role is to:

n  Modify the existing DAL to be scalable for the new database.

n  Modify the "Daily Service" (Windows Service) module to log last run date/time.

n  Extract the latest code from production DLLs using reverse engineering tools.   

Technology used: Dot Net 1.1, SQL Server 2000, ASP.Net/VB, Reflector.

Time Frame: 1 month

 

Automated Order Entry (AOE)

Project overview: New features were added to the JOE project (mentioned herein below) to fit the requirements of other Chubb branches. These features included creation of a new business logic and localization into French.   

My role was to:

n  Write the Requirements document.

n  Implement a "Resource Translator" tool to translate the UI text to other languages.

n  Responsible for source code branching using perforce.

n  Design and Implement a generic lookup manager enabling the add/delete/update features in any of the database lookups.

n  Design and Implement the "Setting Manager" module responsible for modifying the system settings.

Technology used: C#, ASP .NET, SQL server, DTS.

Time Frame: 2 months

 

 

Chubb UK - JOE “Jedi Order Entry System”

Project Overview: Chubb is a world-class provider for security and fire protection services. Those services include electronic security and monitoring, fire detection and suppression, and security personnel and rapid response. Chubb needs to modernize its existing customer order entry system. The system serves Chubb sales representatives, sales managers, engineers and administrators to capture customers' information, produce estimates, quotes, security system specifications and review sales information. JOE system consists of offline and online mode. The offline mode enables sales engineers to make an estimate onsite with the customer, upload it to a Quote and then the system cycle proceeds.

My role was to:

n  Write the design document.

n  Analyze the customer's existing manual system.

n  Implement the "Item Selection" module using the Masters/ detail.

n  Implement a generic grid view to allow double sorting and paging. 

n  Analyze and collect the pricing requirements and implement the Pricing module.

Technology used: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 , ASP.Net 2005, Stylus Studio (XSL and XML)

Time Frame: 8 months

 

United Technologies Corporation – Shared Business Services,

Project Overview: UTC is one of the world's leading high-tech companies with a long history of pioneering innovation in aerospace, aviation, helicopter design, climate control, elevator design and hydrogen fuel cells. The Account Reconciliation Management system ARMS centralizes consolidates, and tracks account reconciliation data. It provides a framework to standardize the account reconciliation process for all Shared Business Services (SBS) accounting teams. The system affords real-time visibility into all UTC business units’ accounts covered under the SBS partnership agreements.

My role was to:

n  Implement the system reports, including designing and implementing the reports Queries.

n  Write the Requirements document of the reports.

Technology used: Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003 and Oracle9i Release 2 on Windows.

Time Frame: 5 months

 

Sikorsky - NT Single Sign On

Project overview: Sikorsky Aircraft Company is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation and recognized as one of the top world leaders in designing and manufacturing advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. The "Single Sign on" project consists of catching the user credentials during the authentication sequence used in the login process, storing it in the Windows registry in order to spare the user using his credentials when signing in to the company's portal. 

My role was to:

n  Allow multiple users to log in concurrently to the same server via more then one terminal. This was achieved by making different encrypted keys with different encrypted values for each logged in user.

n  Modify the "ActiveX controls" to read the different encrypted keys and pass it to the Netegrity SiteMinder” (a policy-based authentication and authorization software)

United Technologies Corporation - Process Initiative  (FX ILR)

Project Overview: The FX Hedging is a workflow process within the employee's portal workflow system. It is designed to manage foreign exchange, intercompany lending, and netting authorities.  It routes internal foreign exchange requests from requesting companies, through the management of each business unit, to be approved or rejected by the parent company. This project is using the iPlanet Process Manager.  

My role was to:

n  Implement the "Simple and Advanced Search" modules.

n  Implement the reports reflecting the status of the requests submitted by the preparer, staff, or senior approver.

Technology used: iPlanet Process Manager, ASP, .NET, JSP, Java, Java Servlets, LDAP, JDBC, Oracle and XML.

Time Frame: 3 months

 

Hamilton Sundstrand Plumtree Portal Upgrade

Project overview: The aim of this project is to upgrade Hamilton Sundstrand's portal from Plumtree Portal v4.5WS to Plumtree Portal v5.0.4. The upgrade process includes minimizing the modifications to the portal core code, implementing the needed customizations through the APIs exposed by PT5.0, preserving the positive elements of the user experience in the current version and maintaining the functionality of the existing Applications/Gadgets installed on the portal through the upgrade.

My role was to:

n  Fix the bugs resulting from the portal upgrade.

n  Write the deployment guide of the different applications of the portal.

Technology used: ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, Plumtree™ Portal v5.0 and SQL

Time Frame: 1.5 months

 

United Technologies Corporation - Common Data Repository (CDR)

Project overview: CDR system is an integral part of the overall UTC Finance digitization plan. It serves as the one source of common data to be shared by multiple finance and non-finance applications.

My role was to:

n  Design and Implement the LDAP search module.

n  Design and Implement the entity browser.  

Technology used: Plumtree, Microsoft .Net, Microsoft SQL Server 2000,Oracle 9i

Time Frame: 5 months
